File 002: The other children
After the death of her mother, Arden returns to Cutter’s Hollow—a snowbound town where old traditions are observed, difficult questions go unanswered, and the surrounding forest is treated with wary respect.
Inside her childhood home, Arden discovers traces of a past she can no longer remember clearly: a sealed box, an unusual stained-glass window, and warnings hidden beneath years of silence. When a familiar face appears at her door—unchanged by time and untouched by death—Arden is drawn barefoot into the woods.
Beyond the Curtain Tree lies a clearing filled with carefully arranged offerings: faded ribbons, rusted toys, tiny shoes, polished bones, and bundles buried beneath the snow. The people of Cutter’s Hollow have spent generations remembering the children who live beyond the trees.
Now, the forest remembers Arden.
The Other Children is a supernatural folk-horror story about grief, buried memory, childhood promises, and the terrible cost of forgetting what was never meant to be left behind.
